This Blog is Part of the NAU Education Abroad and ASNAU’s GO Scholarship that I received to go overseas to Aalborg University in Aalborg Denmark for the Spring 2014 Semester. I will be updating this Blog at least once a week, but probably more then once a week reflecting my journeys, experiences, advice and anything else about my time in Denmark.
So a little about why I choose to go on an ISEP exchange. Here is the reason: “Why Not!” Seriously that’s why, but maybe not all. It came down to the end of Spring 2013 and I was either going to graduate in Dec 2013 or if I did the exchange it would be this Summer 2014, but that was not too important. The more important reasons were I would not be able to do this once I get a career, settle down, etc. etc. So I figured I might as well do this while I still can. So I talked to family and friends and narrowed my list down to Scotland, Belgium and the Netherlands. But you might be thinking Denmark is not on that list, that’s because I did not think of it starting out. It was added to the list after talking to some family friends that have been to Denmark or are from Denmark. After talking to them, the country’s central location in Western Europe and thinking Scandinavia would be fun I decided to put all me chips on Denmark and was accepted. So from then to now it’s just been getting ready to go over. Which entails Residency Permits, plane tickets, getting stuff specifically for the country, and a long list of other things, but if you’re thinking that doing an ISEP or other exchange program for another country sounds like a lot of work and things to do before hand, I won’t lie, it is, but it’s all spread out over time and you have help every step of the way if you need it. So as I originally said “Why Not!” just jump feet first and do it, I guarantee you will regret it later in life if you don’t when you can do things like this now.
-More post and pictures to follow once I’m over there and maybe a few before I leave I don’t leave tell later this month. YAA extended Christmas break!
